Cameron Police Department releases info on Saturday night shooting

CAMERON, Mo. -- (KQTV) At 7:03 pm on Saturday, August 1, Cameron PD and EMS responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street.

The release stated that when they arrived, they found a 28-year-old who had been shot in the chest. Officers were told that the suspect fled the residence on foot before they arrived.

However, they located the suspect in the 300 block of South Walnut Street and took them into custody without incident.

The victim was brought to Cameron Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to a Kansas City area hospital. Law enforcement is not releasing the condition of the victim at this time.

The Cameron Police Department was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cameron EMS, Cameron Fire Department, Clinton County Sheriff's Office, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, DeKalb/Clinton EMS and LifeFlight.
