Noah Cameron’s stellar performance on the mound for the Royals dampened by extra innings loss to Reds

MLB

CINCINNATI, Oh. (KQTV) - St. Joseph native Noah Cameron had his best starting pitching performance of the season on Tuesday for the Kansas City Royals. Unfortunately, Kansas City couldn't close out the game Tuesday night.

Cameron pitched a career tying 7 innings with also a career tying 8 strikeouts and only gave up 1 hit and 1 run on a solo home run against the Cincinnati Reds on the road. The Central High School alum also added a web gem defensive play in the third inning, flipping the ball over to first base for the out without the ball touching his bare hand.

But the Royals lost the 3-0 lead they had, in the 9th inning Cincinnati tied it and it went to extras. The Reds' Blake Dunn hit the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 10th as the Royals suffer another defeat, 4-3.

Kansas City drops to 22-38 on the season and will close out the series on Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:10 pm. Cameron's next scheduled start will be on Sunday, June 7th against the Minnesota Twins on the road at 1:10 pm.
