Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks, rookies and coaches report to Training Camp in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - Kansas City Chiefs players started reporting to MoWest's campus in St. Joseph ahead of the 16th training camp in st. Joseph beginning next week.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks, rookies and coaches all reported to MoWest's campus on Friday for Training Camp. The quarterbacks and rookies will then have practice in the morning over the next three days before training camp officially begins and opens to the public next Wednesday on July 29th.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared with the media that he's been fully cleared for practice as he recovers from his torn ACL and head coach Andy Reid shared his excitement being back at camp in St. Joseph.

"We look forward to this Training Camp up here at Missouri Western State University. They treat us great up here and we appreciate that all the effort that goes into it," said Reid. "President (Pat) Lilly does does a great job of setting things up along with our athletic director here Andy Carter. So we appreciate all that they do and turning their facility over to us and letting us put together a training camp."

"It was always the goal to be able to practice when we got to Training Camp," said Mahomes. "I've told some of the guys that sometimes you come up to St. Joe and you're like, all right, we're gonna go to St. Joe and be in the dorms. But this time around I'm excited just to be able to play football. I've been seeing cinder block walls rehabbing every single day in Kansas City. So now to get out to be on that practice field with my teammates and my brothers, it's gonna be a lot of fun."

Mahomes along with the other Chiefs' quarterbacks and rookies will have their first training camp practice closed to the public Saturday Morning on July 25th at 9:15 am. They'll then practice on the 26th and 27th before having the 28th off before camp kicks off Wednesday the 29th.
