St. Joseph Mustangs end their season in round one of the MINK League playoffs

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The 2026 season for the St. Joseph Mustangs has come to an end after losing to the Chillicothe Mudcats in the MINK League playoffs, 12-6.

The Mustangs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Mudcats rattled off seven runs in the 5th inning to take a commanding lead. The quest to win three straight MINK League Championships comes to an end at Phil Welch Stadium.

The Mudcats are now moving on to the semifinals where they will face the Clarinda A's on Tuesday, July 28 at 7 p.m.

The Mustangs end their season with a 25-16 record and a 22-15 record in conference play.
