Atchison boys hoops scrapes by Hayden in Class 4A Sub-State Finals, Phoenix advance to State Quarterfinals

(ATCHISON, KS) - The 2 seed Atchison High School boys basketball team survived a big scare on Saturday, narrowly beating 10 seed Hayden, 68-67 in the Class 4A Sub-State Finals.

Hayden hit a three pointer with no-time left on the clock to pull within one point, no foul was called on the attempt to try and tie the game.

The Phoenix improve to 25-0 on the season now and will face McPherson in the Class 4A State Quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 11th. Time TBD.
