Maur Hill’s Hannah Coady continuing her high school basketball career at Highland Community College

(ATCHISON, KS) - Maur Hill Mount Academy senior Hannah Coady signed to play college basketball with Highland Community College earlier this month.

Coady was a vital piece for the Lady Ravens as Maur Hill finished with a winning record the past 4 seasons, never done before in the school's history. Coady and the Lady Ravens finished with an 18-8 record this past year, also a school best. Maur Hill girls hoops had an undefeated league title and won the mid-season tournament before losing in the Class 2A Sub-State Finals.

Coady chose Highland because it's close to home and so her family can go watch her play. Coady is proud of all of her accomplishments and is excited to play at the next level.

"My coach (Tana Coleman) she seems really inviting, both of the coaches they have. I haven't met really any of the players, but they both seem very inviting, which I like. It helps a lot, and they showed me that I can come to them even though I'm new, so I can be there and ask for help whenever," said Coady. "From freshman year to senior year (at Maur Hill), even my coach can say like I've definitely grown a lot from just ball handling, shooting, helping my teammates. A lot of people say I'm such a great team leader, so I appreciate that from everyone too."

"One thing I always remember about (Hannah) is how tough she is. Even coming in as a freshman, she was always tough and reliable, so I love that she'll continue to get to do that," said Maur Hill head coach Luke Noll. "But she's always been a tough player and motivated, so that's always exciting."
