Mid-Buchanan High School volleyball finishes with fourth place finish in Class 2 State Tournament

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The Mid-Buchanan High School volleyball team's incredible season ended on a down note Thursday, as the Lady Dragons get swept 3-0 in the Class 2 Third Place Game to Liberty (Mountain View) (23-25, 18-25, 19-25).

It was still an incredible season for Mid-Buchanan, a fourth place at state is the highest in school history and the team went toe-to-toe in a 5 set defeat the night prior to Covenant Christian Academy, the top team in Missouri in Class 2.

"They absolutely rewrote the record book that's the numbers part of it, individually and team stats and wins and every category we keep, they rewrote it," said Mid-Buchanan head coach Ron Underwood. "I think what I'll remember the most about this group is they stayed together for 40 matches. They totally put their egos in neutral for 40 matches so that the team would do well."

Mid-Buchanan finishes the season with a 38-3 record.
