Kansas City Chiefs come away with road victory in Miami to get to 3-0

MIAMI, Fl. (KQTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs offense and defense struggled at times on Sunday but KC was still able to overcome and come away with a 24-10 road victory against the Miami Dolphins.

Patrick Mahomes finished 20-of-24 for 246 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Rashee Rice caught 7 passes for 88 yards, Travis Kelce caught 2 passes for 59 yards and 1 touchdown. Kenneth Walker rushed for 70 yards on 18 carries with 1 rushing touchdown and 1 receiving touchdown.

On defense, cornerback L'Jarius Sneed forced a crucial fumble from quarterback Malik Willis that the Chiefs recovered in the second quarter when Miami was driving in the red zone. In the fourth quarter, edge rusher George Karloftis had the first interception of his career on a tipped pass from Willis.

"Obviously we didn't play to our standard. It'll be a learning experience for us to know that we have to come with our A-game every single game in order to win," said Mahomes.

"We knew it would be four quarters of football and that's what it took. We've got plenty of things to work on, but it's great to be 3-0," said head coach Andy Reid. "There are some real good things we can take out of it, and there's some things we can definitely work on going forward. But I thought the second half we had some stops defensively. I thought we did a nice job there with that, and then took advantage of a couple of those with the offensive side."

The Chiefs improve to 3-0 and will next play in Las Vegas, Nevada against the AFC West rival Raiders on Sunday, October 4th at 3:25 pm.
