Briningstool takes pointers from Kelce

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Jake Briningstool, a second-year tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, missed all of last season with a hamstring injury.

During recovery, Briningstool was able to take advantage of the time by learning from TE Travis Kelce.

"Being able to be so close to him with the Hall of Fame career that he has had has been a blessing," said Briningstool. "It's been a blessing for me being able to just watch him, study him and just be able to play alongside him."

Briningstool wasn't the only one who gave credit to Kelce for being a team leader.

Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid said he loves the example Kelce sets for the young players with his work ethic.

"You have to pull Travis, or he'll stay out for every play," said Reid. "I love that part of him, and it's great for the young guys. He shares that energy with them, and he's not afraid to get on guys and challenge them."

Briningstool will get a chance to show what he can do to the coaching staff in their first preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The game will be at Arrowhead Stadium with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
