Bill Falkner is running uncontested to be Buchanan County's next Presiding Commissioner, taking over for Scott Nelson, who has served in the role since Jan. 2023.

Falkner is completing his final term serving as a Republican in Missouri's House of Representatives for District 10. He's held the position since 2018 and was re-elected in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

Falkner, a St. Joseph native, served as mayor for eight years from 2010 to 2018. He also served on the St. Joseph City Council and the Missouri Municipal League Board of Directors.

He graduated from Benton High School and attended Missouri Western State University.
