Tracking a damp and foggy Wednesday

We’re halfway through the workweek and waking up to more cloudy and gloomy conditions. Mist and drizzle are falling early this morning, leading to damp roads across the area. The added moisture in the air is also reducing visibility, with areas of fog beginning to develop.

High temperatures today will be slightly warmer than Tuesday, reaching near 54 degrees. There is about a 30% chance of drizzle and light rain throughout the day.

Conditions begin to dry out during the evening hours and into early Thursday morning. We may even see a little sunshine by Thursday afternoon. However, another round of thunderstorms is expected to move through Thursday evening.

Friday is a KQ2 Storm Tracker First Alert Weather Day. The St. Joseph area is currently under an enhanced risk, level 3 out of 5 for severe weather.

The primary threats include large hail, damaging winds and the potential for an isolated tornado.

Temperatures will continue warming through the remainder of the workweek, climbing into the low 70s by Friday. Following Friday evening’s storms, colder air moves in, dropping temperatures into the mid-50s Saturday and the mid 60s by Sunday.

The good news: We dry out this weekend, with mostly sunny skies returning. Rain chances pick back up again next week.
