Tracking thunderstorms on Friday

After finally seeing some much needed sunshine on Thursday afternoon we will start to track our chances for showers and thunderstorms on Friday. Strong storms could develop ahead of an approaching storm system Friday afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could contain damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain and frequent lightning. An isolated tornado is not out of the question if the storms organize. March in northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas typically brings average highs in the low to mid 50's with frequent rain and sometimes a snowfall. Looks like we will start off the month with storms but we will also be watching some colder air making its way into the area late next week.
