EF-0 tornado touched down in Kansas City metro Friday night

A weak EF-0 tornado was confirmed to have hit near downtown Kansas City Friday night, touching down at 11:34 PM as a line of storms passed through the area. 

According to a preliminary survey by the National Weather Service, maximum winds were estimated at 75 mph with a path length of 7.87 miles. The small tornado was on the ground for just under 10 minutes. Damage was limited to mainly trees, with power outages in and around the path as well.
