Tracking spotty evening t-showers, cool and breezy Friday

Near record heat Thursday afternoon will give way to seasonable temperatures and northerly breezes Friday, as a cold front sweeps across the area. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible along the front this evening, with temperatures falling from near 90 degrees to the upper 30s and low 40s by early Friday morning. Southwest breezes will change direction this evening, with northerly winds at 15 to 25 mph tonight and much of Friday.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for all of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas from 12 PM through 8 PM Friday. Steady north winds and dry air will result in an elevated risk for spreading fires through the period.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, 30% t-showers early. Low 38.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy, cooler and breezy. High 56.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and seasonable. High 60.
