Tracking a chilly Friday night, weekend sunshine, lingering fire danger

A clear and chilly Friday night will bring frost and freeze potential to Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas late tonight and early Saturday morning, before southerly breezes and sunshine promote a warming trend Saturday afternoon and into Sunday. Dry air and breezy conditions will continue to result in elevated fire danger Friday and Saturday afternoon, with Red Flag Warning’s in place across the area. Temperatures will spike into the mid to upper 80s early next week, before cooler air and rain chances return in the extended forecast. 

A Freeze warning is in effect for all of Northwest Missouri and parts of Northeast Kansas from 1 AM to 9 AM Saturday. 

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and colder. Low 25. 

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy. High 63. 

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, warm and breezy. High 76.
