ACTION ALERT DAY: Tracking strong to severe thunderstorms late Saturday afternoon and evening

The KQ2 Storm Tracker Weather Team has issued a KQ2 Storm Tracker Action Alert Day for Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas late Saturday afternoon and evening, as strong to severe thunderstorms are anticipated in parts of the area.

Pockets of sizable hail, damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes will be possible as storms fire up and organize, mainly between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday. Locally heavy rainfall could also pose a flood risk, with saturated soils in place after heavy rainfall earlier in the week.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for parts of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through 11 p.m. Saturday, June 13.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of far Northwest Missouri, Southeast Nebraska, and Southwest Iowa until 11 p.m. Saturday, June 13.

A Flood Watch remains in effect for parts of West Central Missouri and East Central Kansas through 7 a.m. Sunday, June 14.
