Tracking late-week heat and sunshine, spotty t-storm chances

Summer-like warmth, sunshine, and spotty t-storm chances will dominate the forecast across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas for the end of the work week and much of this weekend. Although rain and thunderstorm chances are scattered or even isolated, storms may be strong so severe at times. Mostly sunny skies and low 80s Thursday afternoon will give way to increasing clouds and a slight chance of showers and storms after sunset with, southerly winds at 15 to 25 mph and lows in the mid to upper 60s. Heat will build on Friday as highs reach the low 80s with lots of sunshine and a chance of isolated thunderstorms for the late afternoon, and overnight hours. Spotty t-storm chances, periods of sunshine and above average temperatures will stick around through early next week.
