Tracking summer-like temps into the weekend

Abigail McCluskey

Northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas are in for another stretch of unseasonably warm weather, with temperatures running well above average through the weekend and into early next week. Highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 80s, making it feel more like late summer than October.

Mostly dry conditions are expected through Monday, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy fall activities outdoors.

Rain chances will begin increasing Tuesday into Wednesday as moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Simon moves north into the Central Plains.

The exact timing remains uncertain, but rain chances could reach 50–70% by the middle of next week. Temperatures may also begin to trend cooler as clouds and rain move into the region. Until then, enjoy the sunshine and summerlike warmth while it lasts!
