Tracking a mostly sunny and toasty October weekend

The current stretch of warm and dry October weather continues for Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas this weekend, before a cold front brings somewhat cooler air and a few slight rain chances early next week. Mostly sunny skies and highs near 80 Friday afternoon give way to a clear and dry night with lows dropping into the 50s and southerly breezes slowing from 15 to 5 mph after sunset. Sunshine and afternoon warmth prevail Saturday with highs once again near 80 degrees and southerly breezes at 10 to 15 mph. Clouds gradually increase on Sunday as a front slowly approaches the region, although rain chances remain slim to none. Unseasonably warm air also lingers Sunday and likely Monday as highs rise into the upper 70s. Temperatures are slated to slowly cool by Tuesday, with considerable cloud coverage, slight rain chances and highs near 70 degrees.
