Tracking cool & seasonable temperature into the weekend

Abigail McCluskey

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Starting off this morning, I’m tracking a few areas of patchy drizzle across the region. That will gradually taper off through the morning hours as drier air moves in behind yesterday’s cold front. Skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day today, with a gradual clearing trend beginning from southwest to northeast tonight.

Behind that cold front, temperatures are going to feel much more like fall! Highs today will only reach the mid to upper 50s, with breezy west to northwest winds throughout the day. As we head home from work and school this afternoon, temperatures will remain in the 50s before dropping into the 40s overnight tonight.

Looking ahead, near-seasonal temperatures stick around through the rest of the workweek and into the weekend. Highs Thursday and Friday will remain in the mid to upper 50s, with overnight lows generally in the 40s. Rain chances stay very low, with most of us staying dry through Saturday. By Saturday morning, temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s, especially across north-central Missouri, so it will be a chilly start to the weekend. We’ll then start to warm back up early next week, with highs returning to the mid to upper 60s!
