ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- United Way of Greater St. Joseph is inviting the community to attend three volunteer sessions they are hosting in March.

The sessions are available to assemble meal kits for those facing food insecurity in St. Joseph.

The first session will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11.

The second will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.

And the final is being held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.

"These hands-on sessions offer a simple but powerful way for people to make an immediate difference." United Way President Kylee Strough said.

The organization hopes to assemble 900 bags by the end of the final session.

"Each kit assembled represents a person or family who will have access to a nutritious meal." Strough said.

All sessions will be held at United Way of Greater St. Joseph, located at 118 South 5th St.
