KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA Regular Season Champion University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball team's Reese Schaaf and Taylor Weishaar earned All-MIAA accolades, and head coach Dave Slifer was voted the 2025-26 MIAA Coach of the Year, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday, March 3.

Schaaf and Weishaar were both named to the All-MIAA First Team, while Weishaar also garnered All-Defensive Team recognition.

A senior guard/forward from El Dorado Springs, Mo., Schaaf averaged a team-high 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in UCM's 28 regular-season games. In Central Missouri's 19 MIAA contests, Schaaf averaged a double-double with 21.4 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

Entering the MIAA tournament, Schaaf leads the conference in field-goal percentage (54 percent), ranks second in scoring (19.2 points per game) and rebounding (9.8 rebounds per game), and is fourth in free-throw percentage (85.2 percent) and steals (1.8 steals per game).

She also leads the MIAA and ranks 11th in NCAA Division II in double-doubles with 16.

This is Schaaf's second All-MIAA accolade, as she was the MIAA Co-Newcomer of the Year and a second-team honoree last season.

Weishaar, a sophomore guard/forward out of Wathena, Kan., averaged 15.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and a team-high 1.6 blocks per game in UCM's 28 regular-season contests. In 19 MIAA games, she averaged 16.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.

Going into the MIAA tournament, Weishaar is third in the MIAA in blocked shots (1.6 blocks per game), fourth in field-goal percentage (44.8 percent), sixth in rebounding (7.9 rebounds per game), and seventh in scoring (15.1 points per game).

Weishaar was an honorable mention All-MIAA selection last season.

Slifer, who is in his 22nd season as head coach for the Jennies, earned his third MIAA Coach of the Year honor at Central Missouri and fifth of his illustrious coaching career after leading UCM to its 13th MIAA Regular Season Championship in program history with a 17-2 conference record, and an overall record of 23-5 during the regular season. The regular-season title is the fourth under Slifer and first since 2019-20.

The Jennies are the number one seed in the MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament and will face either eighth-seeded Northeastern State or ninth-seeded Emporia State in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 5, at noon at historic Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
