Southwest Parkway to close for improvement project

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Drivers who travel along St. Joseph's Parkway should plan for alternate routes beginning Tuesday, March 17.

The project involves replacing a crossroad culvert located on S.W. Parkway, south of the Fairview Golf Course parkway entrance.

The improvement aims to maintain proper drainage and roadway safety.

A news release from the City of St. Joseph said closures will be in place during the duration of the project.

Southbound Traffic:

· Closed to through traffic at Duncan Road

· Full road closure south of the Fairview Golf Course parkway entrance

· Access will be maintained to the golf course’s Parkway entrance and exit

Northbound Traffic:

· Closed to through traffic at 28th Street

· Full road closure north of Bryce Road

· Golf course traffic will need to enter and exit from the 33rd Street entrance

The City said local access will be maintained where possible, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

The culvert replacement is expected to take approximately one week, weather permitting.
