The City has launched a new online budget transparency portal powered by ClearGov’s Public Transparency Center.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The City of St. Joseph launched a new online budget transparency portal powered by ClearGov’s Public Transparency Center.

The interactive tool uses charts and graphs to make it easier for residents to see and understand the City’s financial data.

With the launch of this portal, St. Joseph residents can explore how City funds are collected and how they are spent.

The site opens with an overview section and includes additional tabs where users can dive deeper to see exactly where revenue comes from and how funds are allocated.

Residents can review year-to-date financial information, explore City revenues and expenditures, and compare financial data going back to fiscal year 2013.

Users can view information across all City funds or narrow their search to focus on a specific fund.

For those who prefer working with spreadsheets, the portal also allows users to download the raw financial data.

One of the most engaging features is a personalized property tax tool located in the expenditures section. Residents can enter the amount of their property tax bill to see how their contributions help support City services.

The portal is available on the City’s website at stjosephmo.gov. Residents can also find it on the Finance Department page by clicking the green ClearGov Transparency button.
