Local Elementary School hosts appreciation breakfast

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Lindbergh Elementary School held a breakfast thanking the community for their support Thursday Morning.

Several church members, business partners, community and School Board members all arrived at Lindbergh to grab a bite to eat and watch a special presentation.

Lindbergh Assistant Principal, Dr. Kaleb Johnson, played a large part in putting on the breakfast.

"This was really important for us because we have so many people in our community that are pouring into our schools," Johnson said. "So we really wanted to invite those community partners into our school so that they could see what's going on within our building."

Following the breakfast, several classes in the school performed musical numbers for the people who attended the event.

"We're so proud of those kids and also proud of Miss Turner because she has recruited kids to help them learn Ukuleles," Principal Gary Murphy said. "It's exciting to watch that program grow as the kids learn how to play an instrument that they wouldn't have had the opportunity otherwise."

The event showed a great turnout for Lindbergh, and left many attendants leaving in good spirits.
