ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The University of Missouri Extension is launching a statewide initiative designed to help Missourians increase their physical activity during the summer months.

"100 Miles, 100 Days" is a free program aimed at encouraging Missourians to stay active over 100 days, beginning June 16 through the last day of summer in September.

Participants are invited to move in any way they enjoy, whether it's walking, biking, dancing, strength training or other activities.

The program is flexible, allowing individuals to set personal goals and track progress throughout the challenge.

Miles are recorded by county, creating a fun opportunity for local participation and friendly competition across communities.

Participants can connect with others across the state by joining the "100 Miles 100 Days- MU Extensions" Facebook group.

There is no cost to participate. To register, visit https://pears.io/events/mu/6877/.

For more information about this and other MU Extension programs, contact the local MU Extension office.
