Pony Express Museum announces dates, activities for annual Day Camp

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Students interested in The Pony Express Museum's Annual Day Camp can expect to "Harness the Trails" with different activities.

The annual Day Camp will take place from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. from July 13-15 and July 20-22. Participants can check in at the Pony Express Event Center, located at 1222 S. 10th St., from 8:15 to 8:40 a.m.

Students entering first through sixth grades in the fall of 2026 are eligible for participation. The cost is $45 per camper, which covers the cost of a T-shirt and supplies. A limited number of scholarships are available.

The Education Committee has planned a new series of historical learning for campers. The Cay Camp includes education games, 1860s arts and crafts and more.

Campers will also be able to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

"Be one of 160 students to learn about time-period events and the story of how the Pony Express fits into American history," said Cindy Daffron, Pony Express Museum executive director.
