2 pedestrians seriously injured after being struck by vehicle

DEKALB COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A 41-year-old woman and 3-year-old boy are seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing U.S. Highway 169 Friday evening.

A 63-year-old male driver of a 2015 Toyota 4Runner was southbound on U.S. 169, near Route E, five miles west of Union Star, Missouri.

Both the woman and the boy were attempting to cross the highway when the vehicle's front right side struck them, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The vehicle came to rest in the roadway facing southeast on its wheels.

The woman and the boy came to rest lying in the roadway. They were transported with serious injuries by Grand River Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
