I-29 bridge maintenance postponed until Tuesday

File

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation postponed a maintenance project on the Interstate 29 bridge over Highway 36.

While the project was originally scheduled to begin Monday, MoDOT said the work would now begin Tuesday, Aug. 25, due to equipment issues.

The work will include closures of the northbound I-29 ramp to westbound Highway 36 and the eastbound Highway 36 ramp to northbound I-29.

From 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, I-29 northbound will be narrowed to one lane from the 45.8-mile marker to the 46.2-mile marker.

Both the on- and off-ramps from northbound I-29 to east and westbound Highway 36 will be closed.

MoDOT is encouraging motorists to take alternate routes during the closure.
