1 dead, 1 seriously injured in crash involving a semi-truck near Osborn

OSBORN, Mo. (KQTV) -- One person is dead and one is seriously injured following a crash involving a semi-truck near Osborn, Missouri, Tuesday morning.

The crash involved a 68-year-old male driver of a 2015 Jeep Compass from Stewartsville, Missouri, and a 71-year-old male driver of a 2024 Kenworth Model T680 from Webster City, Iowa.

The Jeep was traveling south on Missouri Highway 33, and the Semi was traveling east on U.S. Highway 36.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the Jeep failed to stop at a stop sign, and its front struck the driver's side of the Semi.

The Jeep came to rest facing north in the westbound turning lane on southbound Route M. The Semi came to rest south of U.S. 36 in a ditch facing east on its passenger side.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at Cameron Regional Medical Center at 12:30 p.m.; next of kin was notified.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
