Tracking Wednesday morning rain & t-storms

Good morning and happy Wednesday.

A Flood Watch remains in effect through 1 p.m. today as additional rain moves across the region.

We’ve already seen quite a bit of measurable rainfall across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas earlier this week, and more rain overnight and early Wednesday morning has added to those totals. With soils already saturated, ponding and standing water on roadways will continue to be an impact, so use extra caution during your morning commute.

Scattered showers will continue through around lunchtime today before gradually tapering off through the afternoon and evening. We could even see a little sunshine return later today as temperatures warm into the low 80s.

Temperatures will only fall into the upper 60s to low 70s overnight before warming back into the mid-80s Thursday. A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible early Thursday, but we should gradually dry out as the day continues.

Thursday and Friday will bring warmer, drier conditions with temperatures returning to the mid-80s.

Our next chance for widespread rain arrives Saturday into Sunday. Rain will also bring cooler temperatures, with highs falling from the low 80s Saturday into the mid-70s Sunday and continuing into early next week.
