Salvation army thrift store grand opening

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The Salvation Army thrift store officially opened, welcoming members of the St. Joseph community to shop and learn more about its mission.

The organization said opening the store has been a goal for some time, not only as a way to become more involved in the community but also to create employment opportunities for those looking to work.

Captain Wendy Meyers Bautista said that while the store brings something new to the community, the organization's mission remains the same: giving people a second chance at life.

“So every purchase that is made here today is going to save one man’s life in our center,” she said.
