United Way looking for Community Members for Allocation Process

File

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A St. Joseph non-profit organization is asking for volunteers for its allocation process.

The annual allocations process is how United Way of Greater St. Joseph decides what to do with its investment of campaign dollars.

Community involvement by those who volunteer ensures that donor dollars go to important causes like education, financial stability and health across St. Joseph.

Recommendations will be looked at by the United Way Community Investment Council and the United Way Board of Directors to determine the 2027 funding for United Way Partner Agencies.

Over 160 community members volunteered their time during the 2025 United Way Allocations Process.

Those who volunteer during the 2026 process are expected to give about 10 to 15 hours of their time across April and May for reviewing agencies, listening to presentations and making recommendations about what United Way can do with the campaign dollars.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Jodi Flurry at United Way at 816-364-2381.
