Boehringer Ingelheim announces job cuts at St. Joseph site

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- A new change was communicated in an email statement from Rene Ward, the Head of Corporate Affairs for Boehringer Ingelheim’s U.S. Animal Health business.

In the statement, Ward said the company is making some operational changes as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen its St. Joseph, Missouri site for the future and stay competitive in a constantly changing supply market.

One of those changes is about how 60 manufacturing and supply employees will no longer have roles at the facility out of nearly 800 people.

Boehringer said all the employees who are affected will receive support from the company, including severance, career transition services and the opportunity to explore other roles within the organization.

The workforce development team at the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce is also stepping in to help impacted employees as they navigate the transition.
