ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Community organizations are gearing up for the annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

The breakfast will begin with an opening prayer 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 7 at Civic Arena.

Along with the Mayor, community members will hear from local pastors, students and other community leaders who will be part of the program.

This year’s guest speaker is George Dennehy, a classically trained cellist who was born without arms. He’ll be sharing a message about overcoming life’s challenges.

All community members are welcome to attend. Upper-level seating at Civic Arena is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Breakfast will not be included with upper-level seating. Anyone interested in tickets or becoming a sponsor can call 816-616-4364 for more information.
