St. Joseph School District Board of Education will hold a special work session on Monday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The St. Joseph School District is getting ready to meet on Monday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Troester Media Center to discuss several key items on their agenda.

One of the main topics on the table is the district’s Career Ladder plan for the 2026–2027 school year. This program is designed to give teachers more opportunities to step into leadership roles, mentor others, keep growing professionally and focus on initiatives that directly support students.

However, the committee has recommended reducing the Career Ladder Program by $20 million, which means the district may need to rethink how the program works moving forward.

If changes are made, the goal will be to keep the program aligned with the district’s priorities while focusing on the strategies which will have an impact—both on teacher’s effectiveness and student success.

The district will also provide an update to the district’s ongoing reorganization plan.

KQ2 will update the story.
