St. Joseph High Schools celebrate graduations

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- All public high schools in St. Joseph held their graduation ceremonies at Civic Arena on Sunday.

Starting off the day was Central High School, which hosted its ceremony at noon.

Over 200 graduating students walked to the stage to receive their diplomas after four years of high school.

"I feel amazing, I'm so excited that after four years, I can finally pay it off," Senior Jeremiah Fletcher said.

Lafayette had their graduation held at Civic at 4 p.m.

Benton High School received its diplomas later at 7 p.m.

Although all three schools reside in the same city, each one has its own unique sense of pride. This rings true for graduating Cardinal senior Cammie Peters.

"Southside Pride means a lot to me. Like being part of that community that's always there for you and like, is just wants the best for you," Peters shared with KQ2. "It's so important to me, and being in such a close-knit community, it feels like I'm graduating for them and for me."
