City says Civic Arena clear bag policy required for major events

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A new bag policy at St. Joseph's Civic Arena aims to enhance guest safety and improve entry efficiency during high-attendance events.

The policy will begin in June; however, it will only be in effect for major events at Civic Arena, including but not limited to:

• St. Joseph Goats games
• Major sporting events
• Concerts
• School graduations
• Harlem Globetrotters performances

The City said all events requiring a clear bag policy will be advertised in advance and posted at the arena.

Approved bags must be clear and may not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, the standard clear-bag size requirement used at most venues, according to a news release.

The first event requiring the clear bag policy will be the St. Joseph Goats game on Saturday, June 6.
