Local choir to perform at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A local youth choir is set to perform on stage in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Lyric Singers of St. Joseph Youth Chorale was chosen by audition and will perform at 1:30 p.m. on June 14.

This is the fifth time the group has been accepted. Lyric Singers is one of nine groups performing at Helzberg Hall and will feature many of the works from their Spring Concert.

The group is co-directed by Karen Heyde-Lipanovich and Jackson Connors. Lori West serves as Accompanist.

The "Future Stages Festival" has been sponsored by Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts since 2014. The event exists to promote young performers.

Since 2014, over 7,500 youth performers and over 100 performance groups have been featured. Over 47,000 members of the public have attended.

While the Lyric Singers perform at 1:30 p.m., the free event begins at noon and goes until 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
