WASHINGTON (KQTV) -- President Trump said a peace deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is complete in a Truth Social post on Sunday.

After nearly four months of back and forths with Iran, the president said the agreement will open the Straight of Hormuz allowing oil to flow freely from the region. The United States will also end its naval blockade of Iran, according to CNN.

Details of the agreement were not immediately released, and Tehran has not commented on the announcement.

The announcement came after Trump repeatedly expressed that an agreement would be finalized Sunday.
