SJSD board to weigh future plans, reorganization updates and enrollment projections   

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The St. Joseph School District Board of Education will meet Monday, July 27, at the Troester Media Center, with much of the discussion focused on the district's future. 

Superintendent Dr. McGinnis will update the board on the district's ongoing facilities planning process, including its work with the DLR Group.  

Board members and district administrators will also discuss updating the district's enrollment projections and whether to hire a demographer to provide new enrollment data and future forecasts.  

District leaders are expected to share updates on the district's reorganization, including moved items, building renovations, parking at Benton, traffic flow at Robidoux, the zoning of Pershing and Field, as well as Title I services and staffing.  

The board will also receive an update on the district's participation in the Mo-Kan Regional Council's regional hazard mitigation plan. The plan is designed to identify natural and human-caused hazards that could affect district facilities, operations, students and staff, while outlining strategies to reduce risks and improve emergency preparedness.  

District officials say the update is intended to keep the board informed about ongoing efforts to strengthen safety, resilience and long-term emergency planning.
