No injuries reported in shooting incident on Mason Avenue Monday

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Police Department said it is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours Monday morning along Mason Avenue.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired around 12:10 a.m. Monday morning at the 1500 block of Mason Avenue.

Officers located evidence confirming shots had been fired. Investigators also determined one residence had been struck by gunfire.

SJPD said there are no reports of injuries and no one is currently in custody; however, investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

The incident remains under investigation and no additional information is being released at this time.

SHPD said anyone with information that may assist investigators is encouraged to contact the St. Joseph Police Department at 816-271-4777 or submit an anonymous tip through the TIPS Hotline at 816-238-TIPS (8477).
