InspireU, Story Collective to host themed activities for new additions to popular book series

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- InspireU Children's Discovery Center and The Story Collective will host a day full of themed activities to welcome the newest addition to a popular children's book series.

Themed activities will be centered around the Gruffalo books, with the newest one being "Gruffalo Granny," which was released in September.

All activities are included with general admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at inspireU, located at 521 Felix St.

Activities include:

• Three hands-on Gruffalo-themed activities
• Giveaways
• Storytime readings of "The Gruffalo Granny"
• Photo opps and autographs with the real Gruffalo

"Community collaborations like this one with The Story Collective bring our discovery center to life for the children and families we serve every day," said Katherine Patterson-Paronto, inspireU's Director.

The Story Collective will be on-site with the Gruffalo books available for purchase.

"Partnering with inspireU helps create a space where imagination, curiosity and connection thrive for the families throughout our region," said Ashley Dawson, owner of The Story Collective.

The event is free with admission and is a stop on the Dial Books for Young Readers' Costume Storytime Tour.
