Two subjects arrested on felony warrants, fleeing from law enforcement Wednesday morning
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- St. Joseph law enforcement arrested two subjects wanted on felony warrants at Faraon and 16th Streets on Wednesday morning.
Westbound Faraon and 16th Streets were closed Wednesday morning due to a police incident, according to a Nixle Alert from the St. Joseph Police Department.
Local law enforcement blocked off the area surrounding a residence around 8:30 a.m. The area was later reopened just before 10:30 a.m.
"Members with the Sheriff's Office Special Operations Division Criminal Unit, along with the U.S. Marshal Service, was looking to apprehend a female wanted on felony warrants," said Capt. Shawn Collie with the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Division.
Collie said a vehicle had run from law enforcement, and the subject ran into the apartment building located at the scene.
"Once we secured the scene, secured the perimeter, we found that they (the suspects) had made their way through ceilings and walls into another apartment, where we located them hiding in a bathroom," said Collie.
A male subject, who was traveling with the female, was also wanted for felony warrants.
Both subjects were taken into custody for their warrants, and additional fleeing charges will be filed with the prosecutor's office.
According to Collie, no injuries were reported, but there was damage to property as both subjects had "mazed through" the apartment building.
