MSHP identifies female victims in Nodaway County double homicide

NODAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol released the identities of the double homicide victims found dead at a residence just north of Skidmore, Missouri.

Liberty A. Moore, 32, of Maryville, Missouri, and Karen M. Babcock, 58, of Skidmore were identified as the two female victims.

On Saturday, April 18, the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from MSHP's Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) to investigate the reported double homicide at a residence near the intersection of Missouri Highway 46 and Route PP.

Keevin J. Maupin, 20, of Skidmore was arrested at the scene by the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office as a person of interest.

Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney, Tina Deiter charged Maupin with two counts of First Degree Murder and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. He is being held in the Nodaway County Jail without bond.

Maupin is scheduled for his initial arraignment at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 21 at the Nodaway County Courthouse.
