Taney County man arrested following pursuit in St. Joseph Monday

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- St. Joseph law enforcement said one man was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, leading to multiple pursuits Monday.

The pursuits, which led the man to crash into a Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle and a St. Joseph Police Department detective's vehicle, ended at Madison and North 10th streets, where multiple law enforcement departments were involved.

No injuries were reported in the pursuits.

SJPD, MSHP and an armored vehicle were on the scene at a house near the intersection by Lindbergh Elementary.

According to law enforcement on scene, Wayne Bruns, who was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in Taney County, Missouri, among other charges, entered into a residence without permission.

Law enforcement used tear gas to force Bruns' exit and arrested him.

Bruns is being transported to the Buchanan County Jail.
