St. Joseph man charged in string of Highland, Kansas burglaries

HIGHLAND, Kan. (KQTV) -- A St. Joseph, Missouri, man is behind bars after being charged in connection with a string of thefts and burglaries reported in Highland, Kansas, in 2025.

Bruce Bish, 19, of St. Joseph, faces three counts of burglary with intent to steal a firearm and three counts of theft of property or services valuing $1,500 to $25,000.

According to court documents, Bish allegedly attempted to break into two different vehicles and tried to steal three different firearms on Oct. 27, 2025.

One vehicle, a Ford F-150, held a Ruger Wrangler .22 silver caliber, while the other vehicle, a Chevrolet Silverado, held both a .22 caliber long rifle and a GSG Firefly .22 caliber pistol.

According to the Doniphan County Sheriff's Office, Bish is being held with a bond of $150,000.

His case is set for a Status Conference at 9 a.m. on Aug. 27 at the Doniphan County Courthouse.
