Man dead after two-vehicle crash in Caldwell County

CALDWELL COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A 40-year-old man from Kidder, Missouri, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred when the 26-year-old female driver, from Lee's Summit, Missouri, of a 2023 Ram Transit Van was northbound on a private drive, turning west onto Old U.S. 36 at around 1:25 p.m. Monday.

The 40-year-old male driver, from Kidder, Missouri, of a 2008 Ram 2500, was eastbound on Old U.S. 36.

The van traveled into the path of the Ram, which struck the van in the eastbound lane of Old U.S. 36, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The van traveled off the north side of the roadway and came to rest facing west on its wheels. The Ram traveled off the south side of the roadway, overturned and came to rest facing north on its wheels.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:15 p.m. by Caldwell County Coroner Dana Brown. Next of kin has been notified.

According to MSHP, the female driver was wearing a seatbelt and had no injuries. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken by the Caldwell County Coroner to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton, Missouri.
