Houston man killed in hit-and-run

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A 38-year-old man from Houston, Texas, is dead after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene Thursday night, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The man was in the roadway on U.S. 69 southbound at Interstate 635 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle around 8:30 p.m.

The man was pronounced dead shortly by AMR Medic Abigale Smith and was released to Forensic Medical.

Next of kin has been notified.

The crash report listed the driver of the unknown vehicle as an adult male.
