One seriously injured after being ejected from four-wheeler in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A 15-year-old is seriously injured after his four-wheeler overturned and ejected him into a roadway Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred on Highway PP, just one and a half miles west of Pattonsburg, Missouri.

Two 15-year-old drivers from Pattonsburg, each driving a 2004 Honda 400EX four-wheeler, were southbound on Highway PP when the front passenger side of one vehicle struck the rear driver side of the other vehicle in front of it.

The driver of the four-wheeler in the back then overturned and was ejected onto the roadway.

The driver of the other four-wheeler came to a controlled stop on the shoulder, the overturned four-wheeler was removed prior to law enforcement arrival, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash report.

According to the crash report, neither driver was wearing a safety device.

The driver who was ejected was transported by life flight to Children's Mercy Hospital.
